Located on the northern border of the Vougeot appellation and adjacent to Chambolle-Musigny and Les Amouresues, Les Petits Vougeots covers an area of 11.5 hectares within the Premier Cru zone of the Vougeot commune, along with an additional 0.2 hectares close to the village of Vougeot itself. Its terroir is comparable to that of the neighboring vineyards, with an east-facing orientation and soil composition that is mainly limestone with a marly subsoil.

About the Producer

Château de Charodon is eponymous of the young negociant business founded by Louis Vallet, based in Montagny-les-Beaune, just outside Beaune, Burgundy.

Louis’ resume as a winemaker is remarkable. Besides being in the third generation of Pierre Bourée Fils domaine, where he worked for years, Louis amassed invaluable experience from stints in the Biobio region of Chile, as well as distinguished producers like Pascal Marchand and Bernard Zito.

Louis demonstrates a clear philosophy in staying true to the signature of the vintage, while honing the best potential of the wines. Like his mentors, he prioritises ease of drinking and pleasure, while infusing plushness in the texture.
