The vineyard that produced this wine is situated in Les Chalandins, an area within the town of Flagey-Echezeaux, close to the lower section of the esteemed Grand Cru Clos de Vougeot. It faces the south-east and is rooted in a deep soil of clay and silt.

About the Producer

Château de Charodon is eponymous of the young negociant business founded by Louis Vallet, based in Montagny-les-Beaune, just outside Beaune, Burgundy.

Louis’ resume as a winemaker is remarkable. Besides being in the third generation of Pierre Bourée Fils domaine, where he worked for years, Louis amassed invaluable experience from stints in the Biobio region of Chile, as well as distinguished producers like Pascal Marchand and Bernard Zito.

Louis demonstrates a clear philosophy in staying true to the signature of the vintage, while honing the best potential of the wines. Like his mentors, he prioritises ease of drinking and pleasure, while infusing plushness in the texture.
