Les Arvelets is a Premier Cru climat in the Pommard appellation situated in the Côte de Beaune. It accounts for a mere 8 hectares out of 120 hectares of Premiere Crus in Pommard. Its location begins at the outskirts of the village of Pommard in a small valley and stretches towards the road to Saint-Romain. Unlike the majority of Premier Cru vineyards in Pommard which run in a southwest to northeast direction, Les Arvelets is part of a cluster that runs from southeast to northwest. The vineyard is located on clay-limestone soils which are the reason behind the wine's exceptional quality.
Grape varietal: 100% pinot noir
About the Producer
Château de Charodon is eponymous of the young negociant business founded by Louis Vallet, based in Montagny-les-Beaune, just outside Beaune, Burgundy.
Louis’ resume as a winemaker is remarkable. Besides being in the third generation of Pierre Bourée Fils domaine, where he worked for years, Louis amassed invaluable experience from stints in the Biobio region of Chile, as well as distinguished producers like Pascal Marchand and Bernard Zito.
Louis demonstrates a clear philosophy in staying true to the signature of the vintage, while honing the best potential of the wines. Like his mentors, he prioritises ease of drinking and pleasure, while infusing plushness in the texture.
Château de Charodon offers an expansive spectrum of wines in its portfolio, all of which consistently promise pleasurable, freshness, ready-to-drink experiences.
